Female “Aliens” in media

We’ve all seen the popular rise of the sentient alien alongside mankind on the many Medias, post the passing of all media being the monster from space. We see many variations of aliens in media of the masculine or simply out of this earth type, but too many of the female type being altered female human forms with minor differences.

The idea that game developers and movie producers further extraterrestrial females so frequently to the human sexualized form just to pander to the sexual desires of one biological process of the only sentient species to our knowledge is ignorant of an entire universe, an insult to science, an insult to any form of imagination, and an insult to women at all. 

It’s already hard enough for women to not be seen as objects when comparing her to actors and characters in the media that expect her to fill said role, but all the while creatures millions of light-years away are given off the same expectation of attractiveness. Implying that our standards of beauty aren’t just perpetuated through our country and our media, but are in fact “supposed to be true” for creatures biologically evolved in another galaxy. It’s a kind of statement that says you couldn’t be beautiful even if you went all the way across the universe, green or blue or red skinned bombshells will still make you feel like your ugly.

and the “male” aliens? well that’s normal representation, or at least even if it’s made more fair or even, that’s rare to see. This is the kind of characters we see in Admiral Ackbar, ET, and many shows with aliens amongst a culture economy or government, between the many shows that make them invaders. So there’s usually no room for this adult male alien in media, but there’s plenty of room for the exotically skin colored human excuse for what’s supposed to be a space fairing race from across the universe.

Maybe if we can finish objectifying aliens as a sexy human we can start balancing out the vision of earthly women in media. I'm mostly just bored with them not taking a chance with aliens.
